Your Support Builds Hope
At Beacon of Hope, we believe that strong communities are built through compassion, resilience, and shared responsibility. Every day, we work to ensure that individuals and families have access to the resources they need to thrive—especially in times of crisis.
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we’ve been able to respond swiftly and effectively when our community needed us most. In the wake of Hurricane Ian, nearly $500,000 in individual contributions helped us deliver critical aid and accelerate recovery for hundreds of residents.
We are proud to be recognized by the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades as the official Resiliency Hub for Pine Island. This designation affirms our role as a trusted source for social services and community support.
Your gift makes a lasting impact. By donating to Beacon of Hope, you’re not just giving—you’re empowering lives, strengthening families, and helping build a more resilient future for everyone we serve.
How we help:
Disaster Preparedness and Recovery: Our readiness and response capabilities support residents during and after hurricanes. We provide immediate relief and long-term recovery assistance.
Education and Job Skills: Our programs help islanders further their education and obtain job skills. We offer GED and ESOL classes, financial literacy workshops, and career readiness training.
Volunteering Opportunities: Our volunteers support all our initiatives. Volunteering helps the community and provides valuable experience and skills to participants. Please see our volunteer section if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.
Support for Fishing and Service Industries: We develop targeted support for residents working in the fishing and service industries, especially during times when these sectors struggle financially. We provide direct financial assistance, job search services, and business recovery programs guiding islanders when our area is hit with its slow season.
Community Outreach and Engagement: We strengthen our outreach efforts to ensure all residents are aware of the resources available to them and encourage community involvement in our programs.
Your support and involvement are vital to achieving these goals. Together, we make a positive impact on Pine Island.
